Meet Our Coaches
BBA FRONT OFFICE
Andy Bradley is the Founder and Executive Director of the Bradley Baseball Academy, which was created for players who wanted to compete at a high level in a positive environment that was conducive for growth and development. In his years as the Director and also as a coach of the Bradley Eagles, he has seen over 50 student athletes go onto play at the next level(more than 70 if you include his tenure at Gonzaga.) His BBA teams have won more than a dozen tournaments since they began participating in these events during the summer of 2011.
Coach Bradley, a Gonzaga College High School graduate, was captain of the 2000 WCAC Championship team and was named team MVP and runner-up for WCAC Player of the Year. Following the 2000 season, Coach Bradley went onto play his college ball at West Virginia University, Prince George’s Community College and Montgomery College-Germantown. In 2005, he began his coaching career as a Varsity infield coach at his high school alma mater and held that position for four years before taking over as the head coach in the fall of 2008. In 2011, Coach Bradley was voted the WCAC Baseball Coach of the Year and in 2012, he became a member of the National Coaches Institute and Sports Challenge Leadership Academy. He recorded his 100th win at the end of the 2016 season in the DCSAA Quarterfinals. Coach Bradley lead Gonzaga to two DCSAA Championships in 2015 and 2017 and was recently awarded the honor of the 2016-17 National Federation of State High School Associations Coach of the Year Award for the District of Columbia.
Along with his duties at BBA, Coach Bradley works as a field coordinator for the Headfirst Honor Roll Showcase Camps in Jupiter, FL and Long Island, NY. He is also a board member of the Northern Virginia Travel Baseball League, where he spends a lot of his time working with fellow organizations on their Premiere Showcase League division. In 2015, he joined the American Baseball Coaches Association and attends their annual conventions, which host close to 7,000 coaches from around the country.
Andy is extremely proud and humbled to be starting his ninth year heading up BBA. It would not be possible without the love and support from his incredible staff, players and families who have been along for the ride thus far and for those who will hop aboard the train as the years go on.
Coach Matt MacDonald is the BBA’s Director of Social Media and manages our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts. Matt is a Special Education Teacher at Robert E. Lee High School, where he is also the varsity head coach. Coach MacDonald played high school baseball in Virginia Beach for Princess Anne High School and played his college ball at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. Coach MacDonald was also the first head coach of our Premier Showcase League Team and will begin an unprecedented ninth summer coaching for BBA.

Associate Head Coach Adam Delauter graduated from Catoctin High School in Thurmont, MD in 2006. He went on to play two years of JUCO Baseball, playing at Chesapeake College his Freshman year, then transferred to Allegany College of Maryland and played for JUCO Hall of Fame coach, Steve Bazarnic. After leaving ACM, he transferred to Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA and was a two year starting outfielder for the Hornets. During his two years at Shenandoah, they achieved a top 10 National ranking in Division III baseball, and won the South Regional championship in both 2009 and 2010, making it to the Division III National Championship both years. Adam was an All USA South Conference outfielder in 2010.
Associate Head Coach Eric Scamardella is originally from New Jersey. Following high school, he played 4 years of varsity baseball at Catholic University where he was a left handed 1st baseman and outfielder. At Catholic, he was a member of the 2015 Conference championship team, going on to play in the NCAA Regionals. He was team captain both his Junior and Senior years, has recently obtained a Masters degree and now works in public accounting in Tyson’s ,VA. This will be his 5th season with BBA since joining back in 2016.
Co-Head Coach Brandon Withers is originally from Manassas, VA and graduated from Osbourn High School in 2012. After high school, he had 0 offers to play baseball at any collegiate level so he enrolled as a student at Virginia Tech. While at VT Brandon tried to walk on the baseball team and was cut in the fall. The next year, he transferred to James Madison University and walked on to the team. After graduating, and having a successful four year career, Brandon was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 2017 MLB draft. He currently plays in the A’s minor league system and is still pursuing the big league dream. Having not been the most talented player in high school or college, he is excited to share and teach some of the things that have helped him have success and reach the professional level.

Academic 15/16u Fall
Head Coach Kirby Neuner is originally from Hackettstown, NJ. Kirby played for one of the Headfirst Gamers teams in Washington, DC during summer of 2010. He graduated from Hackettstown High School in 2011 and went on to play baseball at Division III Williams College in Williamstown, MA. Kirby has coached all age levels at numerous summer camps and clinics, including the Headfirst-sponsored New York Yankees official youth camp during summer 2012. He completed his baseball career and graduated from Williams in 2015, and since then he has been working at a DC-area international development firm. Kirby is also a recent graduate of the Georgetown School of Foreign Service. He will be entering his 8th season this fall as a Bradley Eagles Head Coach.
Pitching Coach Kyle VonEnde is the former Director of Communications and Administration for the Bradley Baseball Academy. Coach VonEnde is a graduate of American University with a degree in Political Science and American History. Kyle is originally from Ringwood, NJ where he attended Lakeland Regional High School and played baseball at the Varsity level for three years, receiving Honorable Mention during his senior season. Kyle has spent time working for the Headfirst Companies as a Business Development Intern and a Facilities Coordinator for their New York Yankees and Washington Nationals Summer Camps. Coach VonEnde has also spent two years interning on Capitol Hill. Kyle joined the BBA as an assistant coach in 2014 and has coached multiple teams including our 13u, 14u, 16u, and Varsity over the course of eight seasons.
Academic JV Fall
Head Coach Ky Parrott is excited to return for the fourth time as a coach under the BBA umbrella. He is a local product of Herndon High School, where he was VASID First Team All State, and was drafted in the 26th round by the Milwaukee Brewers. After declining to enter pro ball out of high school, he went onto become a teammate of Coach Carroll’s at James Madison University. While a Duke he put great years including a .496 on base percentage his senior year that was second in the CAA and fifteenth in all of Division I. Great to have Coach Parrott back for another Fall season!

Academic Futures Fall
Head Coach Ben Webster is a Bethesda, Maryland native where he went to Walter Johnson High School before transfering to play ball at the Bullis School. During high school, Coach Webster was an all conference pitcher two years straight playing for Bullis, as well as being named an All Met HM his Junior season. Ben went on to play ball at St. Mary’s College of Maryland where he is studying Psychology. Coach Webster has worked a number of BBA summer camps, as well as BCC and Bullis baseball camps throughout the years. This will be Coach Webster’s fourth season coaching for BBA, and second as the head coach.
Assistant Coach Brad Hampton went to Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, MD where he was a first team All-Division second baseman his senior year. He continued his playing career at McDaniel College, and graduated with a BA in History and a minor in Political Science. Brad played for BBA’s 18u Eagles during the summer of 2012 and BBA’s College squad in 2015. He has worked a number of BBA Summer Camps in McLean, has coached 8 seasons for BBA since the summer of 2016. He is looking forward to returning as a coach of the BBA Futures staff again this fall.
Academic Showcase Fall
C0-Head Coach/Pitching Coach Tom Ballenger is currently the Pitching Coach at DeMatha Catholic High School. In 2017-2018 he helped lead to the Stags to back to back runner up conference championships. Tom pitched at DeMatha High School from 1998-2002 and moved on to pitch at the D1 level at UMBC from 2002-2006. Tom also coached at Bishop McNamara High School from 2007-2014 under the leadership of the Hall of Fame Coach Larry Prange. Helping McNamara to back to back Runner Up conference Tournaments in 2012-2013. Coach Ballenger has coached in the Stars Showcase organization since 2014 with many tournament championships and winning a bid to the Jupiter Tournament in 2015. Tom is a Husband to Michelle and father to four kids, Gloria, Cormac, Rory, and Oona Maeve. He will be starting his fourth season for BBA this Fall.
Associate Coach Joe Saverino spent four years as a Varsity Assistant at DeMatha Catholic High School, serving as the infield and hitting coach. He helped lead DeMatha to three straight WCAC Finals, and two Maryland Private School Championships. Before coaching at DeMatha, he spent four years at Bishop McNamara High School as a Varsity Assistant and Junior Varsity Head Coach. He helped McNamara reach the WCAC Finals for the first time in school history in 2012 and 2013. Coach Saverino spent time coaching for Stars Showcase Baseball, leading their 14U-16U teams to multiple tournament championships. Joe played four years of college baseball, two at The College of Southern MD and two at Maryville College. He earned All Region Honors, Rawlings Gold Glove, an All Star Selection, and Scholar Athlete of the Year. He is a Middle School History and Math Teacher. Coach Saverino and his wife Lisa have two children Grady and Lyla.
Fall Practice Instructors
Coach Chad Carroll played Little League Baseball for Vienna Little League when his family moved to Virginia years ago and has been a resident of Northern VA ever since. Chad did his first two years of High School at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, DC where he played for Andy Bradley who was in his first year as head coach of the Eagles. He finished his high school career at Oakton HS where he played for Justin Janis in his first two years as head coach of OHS. In his senior season, Chad received 1st Team ALL-Met honors at shortstop. In addition to baseball, he played Water Polo at Gonzaga and ran track at Oakton. Coach Carroll played 5 years of Division I College Baseball at James Madison University where he received multiple awards including 1st Team All-CAA honors as an outfielder and an infielder. Chad has spent the last 4 years coaching in the Stars Organization coaching the 16 & 17 year old age groups, two of which were as head coach. In his free time, Coach Carroll has given private lessons to local Virginia ballplayers for the last 5 years. As of July 2018, Coach Carroll accepted the head coaching position at Gonzaga College High School. Coach Carroll is looking forward to starting his fourth season with the Eagles this fall.
Special Assistant & Roving Instructor Bobby Picardo is currently the Associate Head Coach at Catholic University and serves as the hitting coach and leads their recruiting efforts. In 2015 the Cardinals claimed a conference championship earning a bid to the NCAA tournament. BP played at Catholic from 2005-2009 captaining two conference championship squads. Coach Picardo then spent three seasons working in Minor League Baseball for the Trenton Thunder, AA affiliate of the Yankees. Here he oversaw all little league camps and programs. The Atlantic Highlands, NJ native played high school baseball for Middletown South, garnering American Legion All County Honors. He later served as hitting coach for the Eagles from 2010-2012, a run that featured both a county and state title. Coach Picardo formerly served as the head coach of this team for three seasons.

SEASONAL COACHES/ROVING INSTRUCTORS
Assistant Coach Spencer Abraham attended high school at the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland. While at Landon, he was a four-year varsity starter for the Bears on the mound and at first base. Coach Abraham attended and played ball at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. He majored in Government and Economics, in addition to receiving a BA in Finance. He has spent the last four years playing summer ball for the Eagles at the 18u and college levels and this will be his first year as a BBA coach.
Coach Ross Bruenger went to Clinton High School in Clinton, IL, from 2004-2008. He was a captain who led CHS to sectional championships in 2006 and 2007 and was an all-conference selection as a pitcher and outfielder in 2007 and 2008. He went on to pitch and become a captain at Illinois Central College for two years before transferring to the University of Maryland in College Park. Ross graduated from the University of Maryland in 2012 and currently works for an IT company.
Coach Corey Burch is a native of Sterling, Virginia and attended Bishop O’Connell High School. He started for 3 years of varsity baseball and competed in the WCAC, earning all-conference honorable mention for 3 consecutive years. Currently, he is a pitcher for the nationally ranked Roanoke College Maroons and was a member of the 2017 team that reached the NCAA Division III World Series and finished #3 in the country. This is Coach Burch’s first season with the BBA and we are excited to welcome him aboard.
Coach Evan Christian is from South Carolina where he went to Hilton Head Christian Academy. He was named to the SCISA All-Star team from his Freshman to Senior year and played for two state championships. He played two seasons of DIII baseball at Piedmont College where he was a starting pitcher. While at Piedmont, he played in the Christian College World Series and started Game 1 as a freshman. After his Sophomore season, Coach Christian transferred to DII Lander University in the Peachbelt Conference where he was a midweek starter and came out of the bullpen on Conference weekends. This will be his 7th season coaching under BBA.
Assistant Coach Connor Cozad is entering his first year coaching with Bradley Baseball and is currently a junior pursuing a B.A. in Economics at the Catholic University of America. Connor played 4 years of baseball for the Cougars of Oakton High School. During his senior year he earned second-team all-conference honors as a center fielder, before going on to play at Catholic. Connor has played 3 years both at third base and shortstop for the Cardinals and was a part of the team that won the Landmark Conference championship in 2018.
Assistant Coach Charlie Dillon is originally from Chicago, IL. Charlie went to high school at the Berkshire School in Sheffield, Massachusetts where he was a three sport varsity athlete and two-time captain of the baseball team. Charlie received All New England honors his senior season and set the school record for batting average. Charlie played his freshman year of collegiate ball at Catholic University before transferring to Georgetown University where he would later become the captain his senior year. Charlie has experience coaching a variety of youth camps as well as high school showcase camps. Charlie currently works in the government affairs industry in Washington, DC.
Assistant Coach Nick Halo is a graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. As a two sport athlete he chose to pursue an athletic career in Football over Baseball at Shepherd University in West Virginia. Coach Halo transferred to Salisbury University where he received an Exercise Science Bachelor’s degree in the fall of 2018. This will be his third season coaching with BBA and second with the 13u Eagles.
Coach Jack Hennessy was born and raised in La Plata, Maryland. He attended Gonzaga College High School where he was a three-year varsity player, two-year team captain, and received All-Conference Honors twice. Jack went on to play at Catholic University where he is currently a rising senior and team captain. He helped lead the Cardinals to a Conference championship in 2015 and is looking to do so again at the conclusion of this season.
Co-Head Coach Cory Hudson is a local product having played baseball at Gonzaga College High School as well as The Catholic University of America, where he was part of two conference championship winning squads. He is a BBA coaching veteran with experience coming at all of the HS levels. He is currently teaching Physical Education at the grade school level in DC and was an Assistant Coach on the Varsity baseball team at Gonzaga for seven years. This will be his eighth season coaching for BBA and second summer with the College Eagles team.
Assistant Coach Nick Lynch is a graduate of Gonzaga College High School, where he played varsity baseball under Andy Bradley. He’s been the recipient of the Teammate & Toughness and Weight Room Warrior Awards during his time on the varsity team. He also played on BBA’s PSL summer team in 2016 and 2017. He currently attends the University of Maryland on a pre-med track pursuing a degree in Cell Biology & Genetics.
Assistant Coach John Maloney is starting his first season as an assistant coach for the Bradley Baseball Academy. John is a former BBA player who started at 13u and finished through the PSL team. After playing for Coach Bradley for three years as an outfielder at Gonzaga College High School, he was named the captain of the varsity team during the 2018 – 2019 season. John will be attending Fairfield University to pursue his business and baseball careers.
Practice Coach Brian Murray attended Bishop O’Connell HS in Arlington, VA where he was a 3 year varsity starter in the infield and on the mound & earned honorable mention all-conference his senior year. Coach Murray is currently a pitcher at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio where he is pursuing his undergraduate degree in Political Science & International Relations Major with a minor in History. Brian was nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All District this semester, is a 2-time NCAC Conference champion, 2-time NCAA Tournament participant, and is the Student Athlete Advisory Committee representative for his team. Coach Murray has coached with the BBA in the past and we are thrilled to have him back for another campaign.
Practice Coach Adam Schauer, a product of BBA, hails from here in Washington, DC, where he graduated from St. Albans before moving on to pitch for Swarthmore College. At St. Albans, he led the Bulldogs to a DC State Championship as both a pitcher and third baseman, while also serving as co-captain of the varsity cross-country team. During this time, he was also selected to represent the Washington Nationals and the Southeast US at the Area Code Games, a showcase tournament for the top-250 MLB high school prospects in the country. He also won all Mid-Atlantic region commendation from Perfect Game. Now majoring in Electrical Engineering and Economics at Swarthmore, he toes the slab for the Garnet, helping them on a run to the College World Series and their best season in program history in 2018.
Head Coach Luc Sebrechts
Joey Semel is beginning his third year as an Intern and has moved to the Associate Director of Communications, Social Media, and Marketing for BBA. Joey is a former Bradley Eagle where he played consecutive seasons between 2011-16 starting with his introduction to the big diamond as a 13U player. He played Varsity baseball for the Potomac School in McLean, VA and while he was there, he began working year round camps and clinics for BBA as an instructor. Joey is finishing his Sophomore year at Denison University(OH), where he is the Editor-in-Chief of The Denisonian as well as a commentator for Football, Baseball, Basketball, Volleyball, Field Hockey and Softball for the University’s TV Station. He will be handling certain administrative duties and answering directly to the CEO for BBA.
Assistant Coach Sean Sheridan is excited for his first year as an assistant coach for the Bradley Eagles. Sean was a Bradley Eagle for two years playing on the Varsity and PSL teams. Sean also played baseball under Andy Bradley at Gonzaga College High School for four years. He was named second team all conference in the WCAC as an infielder during his senior year. Sean currently attends the University of Maryland and is an engineering major.
Coach Cory Spera is from Lorton, Virginia and attended Hayfield Secondary School, where he was the National District Pitcher of the Year in 2011. He played for the 18U Bradley Eagles under Coach Andy Bradley the summer leading into his career at Lafayette College. At Lafayette, Cory was a First Team Relief Pitcher and Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year in the Patriot League. Upon graduating, he won the Maroon Club Scholar-Athlete of the Year and the Class of 1913 Trophy, making him the top male student-athlete in the school as voted on by the booster club and athletic department, respectively. Cory currently works as a Leadership Fellow for The Headfirst Companies in Washington, D.C.
Collin Sundsted started his tenure in the winter of 2019 as an Intern and the Director of Communications and Administration for BBA. Collin is a former Bradley Eagle playing consecutive seasons between 2015-2018 (15U, Varsity and PSL). Collin played JV and Varsity baseball for Gonzaga College High School and was Captain three out of four years. He received the 2018 Silver Slugger Award and was named Honorable Mention for the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) DH/Utility Player position. Collin attends Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas where he majors in business/finance and is a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
Coach Matt Velin grew up in Northern Virginia and played his high school ball at Herndon High School where he was a pitcher and outfielder. Coach Velin graduated from West Virginia University in 2009 and went on to coach at Flint Hill in the spring of 2010 as a JV assistant. Matt then moved to Langley where he was the head JV coach in 2011 and Varsity assistant and pitching coach from 2012-16. Coach Velin currently teaches Special Education at Robert E. Lee and is the Varsity assistant. This will be Coach Velin’s fifth season as a member of our BBA coaching staff.
Assistant Coach Ben Weinstein is a graduate of McLean High school where he played outfield for four years under head coach John Dowling. He is currently playing for the University of South Carolina club baseball team and is studying Political Science. Ben spent 6 years as a BBA player and is excited to make the transition into a coaching role.
