Summer Game Plan Email 1

Good Evening BBA Families,

I hope that everyone had an enjoyable weekend as it was certainly a beautiful couple of days. I want to thank all of those families that submitted their “Feedback Questionnaire” with regards to the 2020 summer season. This was most helpful for our staff to be able to work through a game plan for the upcoming months.
With the DMV entering Phase 1, it is the first step in the right direction of getting our players and coaches back on the diamond. We understand that between now and June 12th, some of our BBA players will feel comfortable going to the local baseball parks and fields, but we trust that they will use their best judgment as it relates to social distancing and take other proper precautionary measures that will need to be regarding COVID-19.
Below are some bullet points regarding the summer months as we want to provide more clarity for all of you. Keep in mind, that a Phase 1 opening does not negate the fact that this is still an extremely fluid situation and we will continue to make adjustments for the sake of everyone’s health and safety.
The dates and details below will be updated on our BBA website this week, but please keep this info for your records:
June 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 13
-Recurring 5pm(*10am on the 6th and 13th) Zoom Workouts with Joe Barlia from Project Athlete. Ben Webster will continue to email you the Zoom meeting invites.
-**These Zoom Workouts will shift to Mondays and Fridays at 1pm beginning on June 15th.
June 8th @ 7pm: “Welcome to Summer Meeting for BBA Families and Coaches”
-Zoom Meeting with all BBA Parents, Players and Coaches to discuss the coming months. Zoom info will be sent to you prior to the 7pm start next Monday.
June 12th-21st(**first on field activities)
-Small Group Skills Training Sessions: A google doc will be sent to each of you this week to sign up for the time and location that works best for your family during this ten day stretch. The open time frames will range from morning, afternoon and evening to make it conducive to your family’s schedule.  All of these are optional and will be ran by our BBA coaching staff in both VA and DC. Hitting, defensive tech, bullpens, base running, and more will be what’s covered.
-Evening Zoom Team Meetings will be set up for each individual team and their coaching staffs to go through playbooks, rules, philosophy and more. Exact meeting times/dates will be released this Friday June 5th.
June 22nd-28th
-Official Team Practices begin in the afternoon or evening. Once NVTBL has given us our official permits, we will know when these will be and will update the BBA website. Stay tuned.
June 25th
-Uniform Distro Day @ Langley Forks Park from 10am-1pm. A family representative must arrive at some point to receive all of the player’s uniform items, which should only take 2-3 minutes.
June 30th-August 2nd
-Local and Semi-Local Activities: Games, Practices, Tournaments and Events. This schedule will be updated on our website very shortly as we are still working through final details with the league, field permit offices, tournament/event directors and other entities. For a number of reasons, we are going to avoid staying in any hotels and playing in any out of town tournaments/events during this time frame. One of our top goals for the summer season is player development and we are going to focus our energy on doing just that in the safest and healthiest way possible. There are enough quality local teams and tournaments to ensure our players are competing at a high level.
The Month of August:
-More details regarding the month of August will be coming later this week, so please stay tuned.
I understand the extensive length of this email and thank you for taking the time to read through it. Tuesday night, I will be sending you another email with further details as it relates to:
-COVID-19 Safety Precautions/Protocol for all On Field Activities
-To Do List for Parents to be completed prior to this Friday
-Additional Details related to the summer season
Thank you and stay tuned for Tuesday night’s email.
Best,
Andy Bradley
